was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit in 1996. The youngest of five children. A graduate of The University of Michigan. After working for several years in the professional world, entered the seminary to begin studies for the priesthood. Studied philosophy at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. Studied theology at the Gregorain University in Rome. Received a Sacred License in Theology (STL) from The Pope John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family. Formerly serving as the Director of the Cardinal Maida Institute located at St. John Center for Youth and Family in Plymouth, Michigan.
Since July, 2005, Fr. John Riccardo had been pastor of St. Anastasia Catholic church in Troy, MI. He’s a very popular speaker at pro life and church events. Fr. John is now pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth, MI.
Pastor of Holy Name Parish Birmingham, MI; faculty/board member SHMS; board member Academy of the Sacred Heart; Chaplain,Detroit Chapter of Christ Child Society. Ordained in 1978, Monsignor John Zenz has served on the faculty of Sacred Heart Major Seminary continuously since 1979. He was Archdiocesan Director of Religious Education from 1984-1986; Chancellor from 1986-1990; and Moderator of the Curia and Vicar General from 1990-2008. In 1984, he received a doctorate in spiritual theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. Monsignor Zenz has served as Pastor of Holy Name Parish in Birmingham, Michigan (since June 2008) and Episcopal Vicar for the Northwest Region of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Greg obtained a bachelor’s degree in photo-communication from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and Julie studied business at St. Edward’s University as well. Together they have over 22 years of experience in sales and marketing. The Alexanders spent two and half years as Coordinators of the Family Life Office in the Diocese of Austin and a year and a half as House Parent at a maternity home in Georgetown, Texas.
Greg and Julie have been trained in coaching and numerous marriage & parenting education courses and together they bring a passion for helping individuals and couples be the best they can be. As speakers they bring a culmination of church teaching coupled with their own marriage and family experience and present it in a practical and energizing way. Together they have presented numerous workshops and talks around the nation and these events have provided individuals and couples with tremendous hope and encouragement in their existing and potential marriages.
They are authors of the recent book titled: “Marriage 911: How God Saved Our Marriage”. Greg and Julie Alexander visited the TV studios of EWTN located in Atlanta, Georgia. While there, they taped 13 episodes for the Catholic station’s popular series entitled “Marriage Works in Christ.”. They founded Alexander House is a Catholic, international apostolate dedicated to “proclaiming the beauty, goodness and truth” of God’s design for marriage. Inspired by Pope John Paul II and the teachings of the Catholic Church, the ministry uses its programs, services and resources to help couples live Christ-centered, joy-filled marriages.
